Forum Title: Flashing, a friend every roof must have.
Flashings provide a water proof membrane to the roof that collects any water seeping through and redirects it out of the roof. Due to flashing, the risk of water leaks gets reduced a lot. Water leaks contribute greatly to the weakening of the roof and also lead to the growth of mould or damp. I wrote an article on how to spot damage in the flashing and get it rectified. Please do find some time to read and let me know, if there could be better ways to tackle this issue,http://mydfwroofer.com/do-i-have-flashing-damage/

I remember someone telling me when I first started roofing that flashing was bad. I didn't understand why.He went on to say it lengthens to life of a roof and reduces jobs for us roofers. That was such a shady response. Anyone ever get told this by another roofer?
